Comstock Elementary PTA Reflections Program:

"What My Culture Means To Me"

Welcome to the 2026 Comstock Elementary PTA Reflections Program! This year's theme, "What My Culture Means To Me" gives students a chance to reflect on the people, traditions, values, beliefs, and experiences that help shape who they are. Culture can be expressed in many ways, including family traditions, language, music, food, arts, clothing, celebrations, community, and everyday life. Students might ask themselves questions like: 

• What parts of my background or experiences are most important to me?
• What traditions or memories have helped shape who I am?
• What does culture look and feel like in my everyday life?  

Who Can Participate?
The Reflections program is open to all Comstock Elementary students, from Kindergarten through 4th grade. To participate, at least one person from the student’s primary household must be a current member of the Comstock PTA at the time of submission. If you haven’t already joined, you can do so here. 

How to Enter

Students may enter any or all of the six arts categories, and multiple entries are permitted within a single category.

Each entry must be the original work of one student, created specifically for the Reflections program based on this year’s theme, and must adhere to the National PTA guidelines.

Important
Every submission must include a completed entry form. Submissions without an entry form will not be accepted. The entry form can be downloaded HERE.

There are two ways to submit your entries:

1. Physical Submissions: Drop your entry in the designated box located in the school’s main office. Make sure to include a completed entry form with your submission.
2. Digital Submissions: Use this form to submit your entry digitally. You will be required to upload your completed entry form along with your digital submission.

Important Dates

• Submission Window: September 9 - October 8, 2026
• Final Entry Deadline: Thursday, October 8, 2026
• School Judging: Late October (selected pieces will proceed to Council/District judging) 

Judging Process
Entries will be judged based on creativity, interpretation of the theme, and artistic merit. Judging will be conducted by a panel of creative professionals in a blind judging process.

Awards and Recognition
Winners will be recognized at both the school and PTA levels. Winning entries will advance to the Council level for further recognition.
